It’s All About the Question: What Truly Matters?

Great Dames announced the 11 speakers who will lead a series titled “What Matters to You?” at its new location at Harry’s Savoy Grill & Ballroom in North Wilmington. The three-part series launches Monday, Oct. 3, and continues on Monday, Nov. 7, and Monday, Dec. 5. Tickets are on sale now.

The October 3 event, “Sharing Wisdom Across Generations,” explores how Millennial, GenX, Boomer and traditionalist women can learn from, work with and inspire each other. Panelists include Wilmington University student Shekikinah (Kye) Reynolds, ORYO founder Rosanne Taylor, Christiana Care public health researcher Dr. Yukiko Washio, and Bebe Coker, a celebrated community activist and educator.

On Nov. 7, “Igniting Your Passion and Purpose” delves into ways people can find purpose in life by identifying their passions. Veteran journalist Robin Brown joins panelists Latisha Bracy, a community mobilizer, and entrepreneur Morgan Berman.

The Dec. 5 event, “Creating Change Through Policy,” brings to the stage women who are influencing policy or leading political entities —a timely event given the possible election of the nation’s first woman president. Panelists include Vision 2020 founder Lynn Yeakel, Priscilla Rakestraw, Wilmington City Council candidate Rysheema Dixon and Lisa Blunt Rochester, who is running for US Congress.

“We have assembled a power-packed group of influential women,” says Great Dames President Sharon Kelly Hake.” We know they will offer substantive, impactful conversations that will inspire our audiences and call them to action.”

Harry’s Hospitality Group owner Xavier Teixido is pleased to sponsor Great Dames, “It’s an organization that works to further advance leadership and networking opportunities for dynamic women,” he says. “We support the women and men who embody an entity that has had such a positive impact on our community, and we welcome them warmly to our ballroom.”
